"NOT TO MISS" EVENT, Thurs, April 23

Melinda and I made a decision a while ago, we are not participating in this recession. Sure, the challenges are all around, but we are set on fixing our focus on turning the ship. We've approached every church decisions, cutback, budget, layoff and payroll decrease with an attitude and perspective of hope. Even though it's been tough, it's been a perfect time to cut away the excess and focus on what is most important.

A few weeks ago Dave Ramsey's event was put before our church. We had to make decision, would we put out a message that is contrary to everything else? Would we offer something specifically related to bringing hope to people's finances? People have lost their jobs, pay decreases prevail, even our church is experiencing a major decrease in regular giving, yet a Town Hall for Hope may just be what the doctor ordered. Heck yes, we would!!! So we canceled some events, moved a marriage conference and went for it.

People are rising up around the nation. They are hosting Tea Parties, like the olden days, to protest government spending and more spending, but more than anything we need a new perspective! The reality is we need the kind of change that will last. Not merely another bail out/stimulus package. We need lasting hope.

I think this Thursday will be a turning point in finances for those who choose to be at The Rock Church for the Town Hall for Hope. I am thrilled to be a part of such a great event. I, for one, am ready to remember we live in the most prosperous nation in history, we serve a God who takes pleasure in providing for our every need and during times like these I need to remember that. See you there from 7:00-9:00 PM.
