HOME FROM NYC
I thought I sum up our vacation...It been a blast in NYC!
- It has been a blast to be with Melinda and Seven everyday all day. That's the worst part of heading home...responsibilities take time away from being with the one's I love the most.
- The shopping in NYC is off the chain. I didn't buy one pair of shoes, just a pair of boots I have dubbed "ridiculous" because a) what was I thinking, and b) they don't fit well! I'm looking for someone to give them away to on the street.
- Watching Melinda anticipate the Macy's Day Parade? Priceless. She was like a little girl.
- When you come to NYC go to Tony's Italian food between Broadway and 6th on 43rd, really good. The Strawberry shortcake was SOOOOOOOOOO good!
- This has been the weirdest sleepcation in my life. I seriously stayed up all night twice, not going to bed 'til well after 5 am. I don't know why, I just couldn't sleep.
- Del Friscos steakhouse for Thanksgiving! 24 oz. Porterhouse, Thank You Lord!
- NYC is a really unique place. I have this sense that it's hard to be lonely in NYC. I know so many studies say people in our nation are lonely, but I don't think that is possible in NYC, there are people to talk with everywhere.
- I appreciated the rest. NO appointments, no message to prepare, no places to be in a certain amount of time, no requirements. Ahhhhh!
- For the sports fans, I will remember this trip as the one when Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg with his own gun...wow?
- I walked at least 20 miles in the last 10 days...
- Seven's first flight went off without a hitch.
- This trip will always be remembered as the "family first." And we've got funny pics to prove it, including Seven with Santa at Macy's.
- Cary and Malinda hung out for a few days, thanks for the Thanksgiving company.
- Ryan and Jenny, Adam and Randa and Matt and Naomi joined us Sunday night. We had fun on the subways, went to WTC site, Wall Street and Ellis Island ferry. Not to mention, again, the Strawberry Shortcake at Tony's!
- I love going on vacation, but I love coming home as much. Glad to be back!
