- The First week of December! I love the Christmas season. We kicked it off right at The Rock Church. The whole service was off the charts cool. I really liked the lighting, sound, video components and the music selection. Feel Good Christmas, very fun! I know God was well pleased.
- With that said, I think Christmas messages are almost the most inspiring to pray about, put together and deliver. Three reasons why I think that. 1) People without faith come to Christmas services, they might not hear the gospel message for another year, so I want the whole experience (parking stall to exit) to be excellent. 2) People with active faith can slip into what I call a "traditional rut." A Traditional Rut is created when something is done often enough that it looses it's ability to "wow." For instance, Christmas Songs, they are powerful. We've known them our whole lives, but they still bring the Presence. It's dangerous to take traditions for granted. 3) I want to be at my best. Seriously, there is no message I could author and speak that would meet the expectations that I have. It takes grace at the point when I've prayed, prepared, practiced and preached. At the end of Sunday during Christmas, it's about Grace!
- I am married to my perfect match, Melinda. I had so much fun with her in NYC this year.
- Seven is nearly crawling. Right now she rolls and scoots wherever she needs to go...the stereo lights are pretty to her by the tv...soon the knobs...and then Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer on volume level 10 at 5 am when I'm sound asleep. Yes, I did that to my parents at age 4, blew up their speakers...
- How many think we should have a photography Reach Team at the rock church? If so, send and email to kgorman@trclife.com...oops I better get another email address for kgor!!!
- Anyway, great week. Lot's of stuff in preparation for Sunday, week 2 of Feel Good Christmas!!!
- Oh year, doesn't the whole church look phenomenal. The decor is off the charts...great job to everyone who helped and are still adding components...
- Which reminds me, you should not decorate one day only, you should add something to your Christmas motif every so often until the big day!!! That is the true meaning of the word "Christmafy."
