SERVICE TIME CHANGE

Beginning JUNE 1 we are changing our Sunday morning service times to 10:00 and 11:30. We are doing this for 4 specific reasons.

1) Family's need more margin! Moving kids from one place to another takes more time, more kids equals more time. For a family of 4 we asked several how long it takes to prepare to leave for church. The answers were anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5 hours depending on the age of the kids.

2) As a result of above our children's ministry is unbalanced in attendance. When it takes 1-2.5 hours to get ready for church many families with children attend 2nd service. 2nd service is overcrowded with children most Sundays to enable growth.

3) Our Sunday experience. We want both services to have a similar feel, excitement and anticipation. The experience of both services must be congruent.

4) Volunteers. We believe rested volunteers are the best volunteers. Because our church is volunteer centered we want to reward our volunteers by giving them the space and time required to serve, be fresh and rested.

Many people were excited when this was announced on Sunday. My personal opinion is that the 1st service will become the largest in attendance, but the 11 o'clock hour will still be the number one hour to reach our target, those with no faith, damaged faith and great faith. What do you think?
