SWINE FLU AND MISSIONS

Many of you have given to The Rock Church's mission in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico called the School of Champions. We recently had a youth trip return from there with great reports of children being fed wholesome meals and good classes for mathematics, English and computer skills.

Today, I received a cry for help from the team that leads the School. They need some additional resources in the coming days, so they can deliver the food to the many families and children connected through the School of Champions.

Here is an excerpt from the email I received from the Children of the Dump...

"Today I talked to Bishop Saul in Puerto Vallarta and found out the Mexican government has closed the schools, restaurants and is limiting all public contact as much as possible. For the children we feed at the public schools daily he is most concerned. Their first need is for something to eat for them and their families. Our staff is mobilizing to go to their homes and deliver food. In addition, most of these families don't trust the government, but they do trust "Children of the Dump" and our volunteers. As a result we are putting a system in place to insure that if one of our children gets sick we get them to medical help immediately. Bishop Saul asked me to raise $5,000 immediately to help in this effort."
