PROSPERITY WITH A PURPOSE CONFERENCE

Last night the Prosperity With a Purpose Conference kicked off. In my opinion this is probably the most important conference I will attend this year. With the continued reports of the economy slipping into a real recession it is critical to have a God perspective on finances. Here are a few phrases that have impacted me thus far from the speakers..

  • "Faith comes by hearing. So does fear." At some point we have to choose between the news and the word of God being the biggest influence over our life."
  • It is impossible to give and give and give to the Lord and say, "God hasn't blessed me." If God hasn't blessed you then you can't give and give and give.
  • The word prosperity is very misunderstood in the body of Christ, people think it is only about money. Prosperity means "to travel well," "to journey well," and "to walk the road well."
  • Our body is fed and clings to the Earth Realm; likewise, our spirit is fed and clings to the spirit realm. Our body is consumed with facts; our spirit is consumed with truth. Our soul is the fulcrum where the choice is made to follow facts or follow truth. check this: The fact is we are headed for a recession; the truth is, my God shall supply all my needs. The fact is we have less then before, the truth is God will supply seed to the sower.
  • We have to choose with our soul whether we will follow the facts or the truth. The facts are circumstantial, but the truth is the Word of God and is beyond circumstance.
  • Ecclesiastes 10:10, the ax is the gift God has given you.
  • Sharpen your gift.
  • Take the time to sharpen your ax.
  • What your willing to walk away from you have mastered; what you are unwilling to walk away from has mastered you.
  • Choosing to learn from mistakes or mentors. We can either take a long time to make mistakes and learn, or we can learn from mentors.
  • Mentors are not friends. Your friends are satisfied with who you are, your mentors are satisfied with who you want to become. We often want to make our mentors friends, go to the movies together, but mentors are not in our life to hang out, they are in our life to perfect. Think about that the next time your pastor speaks with you, I did.

Well, those are a few of the items I remember closely. This conference is very timely. It's at The City Church in Kirkland, come out if you get a chance. It goes again tonight and tomorrow morning. Especially if you are feeling the effects of the economic downturn this it the place to be...

I've said, "There is one thing worse than famine, going through a famine without a Word from the Lord." This conference has a timely word for our life.
