WEEKEND REFLECTIONS
4th of July is past. It's bittersweet really. There is this reality that hits me after the 4th, summer solstice is past, so we are on the down swing from summer to fall. This year it was even more sobering because weather wise, we've only just begun. Anyway, on to better reflections than the weather!
- Thanks for the cake on Sunday! I like cake.
- We spent the Thursday-Saturday up on the mountain. There is something cool about a place that has 20 feet of snow in the winter and beautiful green in the summer! I love it there.
- I always try and give the staff a generous 4th of July. It usually includes 2 days off. This year that was thurs and friday. I know some of them worked on Thursday though, that's the way they are.
- In light of last weeks children's post here is a great blog post here about a family in our church.
- Jason and his family were here on Sunday. Its awesome a family can have a rough go of it one weekend, but put that behind them and come back the next.
- Movies and Popcorn is off to a great start.
- Did I tell you how much money I saved on fireworks? I lit a sparkler, that was it. Considering the last few years this was very good for the gas budget!
- Melinda and I went to a friends house on Friday east of the mountains, then went on his boat on Saturday. It was 85, I got burned.
- Seven is a serious boating machine. She slept while we went through rough water.
- Tomorrow is my birthday! 38, yes!
