LIFE=DEVOTION TO GOD (7/15)

Acts 2:44-45, "And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had."

This is a common theme throughout the early church and until today. A devotion to God does not exist without sharing what one possesses.

Sharing is more than a good deed done; it is a revelation. It is an understanding that the giver is merely a steward of what God has already given. Act 4:32, "They felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had."

The choice to share lies within each person (Acts 5:4), but the real secret to devotion does not depend on what is "yours to do or not to do;" instead, trust God by taking the first step and simply sharing.

Sharing and giving makes the difference in our life and others. 2 Corinthians 8:14-15, "Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal."

There is never a time to withhold and hoard. It is always a time to share. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, "Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop." Ultimately, it is up to what is in the heart of a person that determines how much they share. 2 Corinthians 9:7, "You must each decide in your heart how much to give."

Never forget, devotion to God, sharing what you have with others; these things are ministry.
2 Corinthians 9:13-15, "As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. 14 And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. 15 Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!"
