WEEKEND REFLECTIONS

I just got home from my Reach Team's final gathering. We rafted the Methow River today and it was spectacular scenery, fellowship, beauty and these huge rapids that sent the freezing cold water over our sun-burnt shoulders.

  • Sunday was a great service. I thought the message for Oneprayer was phenomenal again. I know I said that last time, but when we can have access to some of the most fantastic speakers in the country it is very special.
  • Oneprayer.com was a huge risk for us. I wondered if video messages would work, but judging by the email's, calls and comments they have worked exceptionally well.
  • We had our first Sunday night service in 7 years!!! Don't worry it's not a weekly occurrence.
  • Worship Sunday morning was BIG; worship Sunday night was intimate.
  • I am so stoked about 93 days of Summer!!!!
  • We outlined some specific prayer points on Sunday night related to the vision of The Rock Church. Get those prayer points and look for them on the blog in the coming weeks.
  • We had a bunch of great people at service last night. I think it is important to have environments that reach people with NO Faith and Damaged Faith; also, I think it is equally important to have environments that reach the core of our church, those with Active Faith. Sunday night was the core of our church.
  • Do me a favor right now, pray for Leah. She is a lady I met today, and she believes and prays, but has been hurt pretty bad by religion. She said she had personal reasons for her anger against the church, that she later told me. I told her the spirit of religion wrecks a lot of people, but not all churches are religious in the way she experienced. She has damaged faith for sure, but I believe we made a connection with her today. So if you read this Leah we are praying for you to experience love like you've never known, and don't forget that book I told you about.
  • It was a great week, can't wait for next weekend...I have the cutest little girl in the whole wide world. Seven, dad loves ya!!!
