BOISE TRIP- Be home tonight

We've just concluded our meetings for Monday and Tuesday, and fly out in about 4.5 hours. Ken Wilde asked me to be a Board Member of the National Prayer Center in Washington DC--organization is under state of resurgence thus website is not very current--which means I get to do something I am so passionate about; pray for our nation, and teach others to pray for their nation.

Here are the high points:

  • We are not a ministry who will emphasize the issues of the house and senate; instead, we will emphasize praying for the people (congressional leaders and the senate) who deal with the issues.
  • There are 435 congressional districts nationwide. Imagine if there were one church in every district that chose to set aside the issues and simply pray for the elected official that represents them--regardless of party or politics--we could watch as God changed the hearts of our leaders.
  • One goal of NPC is to pray for the implementation of Malachi 4 which tells us to return the hearts of the father's back to the children and the children to the father's; in other words, God is looking for father's and mother's in Washington DC who have a heart for this nation, these are things we can pray for.
  • Intercession and prayer of this magnitude is the act of placing the cross by carrying the burdens people (leaders) bear and the freedom they can have in Christ.
  • As people who "bear others' burdens" (intercessors) communion becomes a weekly time of refreshing. NO one person can bear the burdens of others through prayer and survive to enjoy their life. We need Jesus to lift the burdens we bear through prayer and intercession through communion.
  • We have access to a house within a block of the Nation's Capital to coordinate teams of prayer.
  • There is another house for sale for 1.6 million dollars two doors away. I'd love to own that house for prayer over our country.
  • I'm not talking about partisanship or democrats and republicans, I am talking about praying for people who are appointed by God (Daniel 4) to leadership over our nation. If we begin to bear their burdens through prayer God can sway their hearts to His viewpoint!
  • I'm not talking about prayer with an agenda (political or otherwise); in fact, I'm not into politics, but I am talking about praying for the most powerful government in the world to make wise choices.
  • I need to mobilize our church to travel to DC to experience this kind of prayer.
  • The interns for next year will be on the ground with internships around the nation in the early months.
  • Please pray for me, I am so excited to be a part of such prayer!
  • Please pray for your leaders...I too am pretty exhausted with the politics we've all grown accustomed to, but instead of sitting home and hoping it would all go away the only way I can do anything about it is to call upon the One who has the divine strategy to turn the hearts of our leaders back to the people they lead.
1 Timothy 2;1, "I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth."
