WEEKEND REFLECTIONS

I had some cool highlights this weekend...

  • Teresa, who comes to The Rock, told me of her friend who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Teresa, when she heard, shared the main point of the Easter Message, "Even when it's over; It is not over!" Her friend received the word and went back for a follow up appointment with her doctor. The report, "We are really sorry to alarm you, we must have mis-diagnosed you." When I heard this I was blown away! First off, what a miracle, secondly, what a relief, thirdly, Teresa remembered the message! Sometimes messages are so filled with information there is no recollection. When we reduce the quantity of information, we can increase someone's ability to remember!
  • For many TRC'ers this weekend was the weekend to come out of winter hibernation. The place was packed.
  • Who loved that video we used to show hope? I did, see it again here. Thanks Granger!
  • I love being a dad! With the race canceled due to snow and rain I got to stay with my SEVEN all day. She is truly the second most wonderful gift ever given to me! First is my wife! I will always love my wife more than my kids. Loving my wife is the greatest commandment for a husband.
  • This weekend we are doing stories of life change! I am convinced people will be blown away to know the powerful stories that are in the midst of our church. Like this one,
  • Jason and Aubrey were at church on Sunday. Jason and Aubrey found Jesus at The Rock a few years back. Through a series of struggles and challenges they had moved on to another church, eventually leaving the city of Monroe. On Thursday night I was doing a little construction project and around midnight I thought of them. I lifted them in prayer asking the Lord to be with them, guide them, take care of them, wherever they were at. On Sunday, Aubrey came up to me! I about fell over. I am convinced intercessory prayer is that prayer you pray for those God brings to your remembrance when you have no way of knowing the outcome. Jason said, "When I heard your voice this morning coming in, I knew I was home."
  • Did you see Travis and the Youth Team started promoting for Ignite: Summer Camp. This week will be off the chain for student's. Get registered now, as I believe space for your kids is limited!
  • Expelled: no intelligence allowed. Have you seen this movie? I didn't even know about it until I saw it was like 9th in the theaters this weekend. Looks like it was only in a small number of theaters. Here was Joel Stockstill's thoughts after seeing it. If you've seen it let us know at knightrous...
