ALMOST A DAD AND MOM

Today I received a call at 9:00 am. Melinda said, "The water is broken and she is in labor." The baby was born this afternoon. I boarded a plane and arrived at 8:30 pm. We spent the evening with the birth mom and held our soon to be little girl.

Adoption is a powerful thing full of joy and pain. For us there is tremendous excitement and at the same time for the birth mother there is a tremendous feeling of separation. We feel a tremendous responsibility to help both and allow the Lord to direct the steps. Our prayer is for great grace for the birth mom. Please agree with us.

The adoption is not official for at least 2 days and the birth mother has to sign some additional documents. Even though our baby girl is born, we've held her, changed her diaper and fed her, there are still some final steps that remain.

We are standing on the Word of God right now, 1 cor 16:9, "There is a wide open door for a great work here..."

Continue to pray for us over the next 48 hours. We feel the prayers. Most important to us, the baby is healthy, beautiful and happy. I'll post pics when I can.
