I PREFER REALITY

Connecting People to Life are four short words that represent Life Change. As I think of them right now I am reminded of 1 Cor 14:25, So he will fall down and worship God exclaiming, "God is really among you."

My friends, neighbors, relatives and acquaintances don't want what they have seen from religion. Some of them have a bad taste in their mouth, some of them are mad at God, and still others are frustrated with hypocrisy and double-talk out of Christians.

If I am going to do anything of significance for God in this life He has got to be "really" among me. It is not as if I can just give Him lip service occasionally, or hope He answers my hail mary prayers I throw out when I need the miraculous. The reality is God is really among us and when we live our lives like He is really there, well, we live differently.

When someone I deeply respect is in the room I prefer them. I offer to open the door for them, find their seat, pay for their meal, help them to be comfortable and etc. How might we prefer God in this ministry?

For starters in life and in any good church I have to prefer God over self, worship over singing, truth over suggestion, real relationships over just those I see "at church." When I live my life like God is in the car with me, on 3-way calling, at my computer, in my home, church, school or whatever I will experience a very real God.

Those dearest to you are looking for direction and you are the one to lead them. Lead them to Christ, lead them to a place worth living today. Lead them to a God who is very real.
