Greetings,
This week I am away with the staffers on our annual Vision Quest. This Vision Quest is not so much to get a vision--we have one of those--as it is to define, redefine and tune the vision for more efficiency.
We will be spending time daily in prayer, worship and generally seeking the Lord together. We will spend about 30% of our time talking about The Rock Church and specifically targeting this next school year. The other 70% of the time we will be connecting with one another and solidifying friendships.
Having solid friendships within an organization is mission critical. Sometimes ministry can be so absorbing of time and energy that the human element gets lost on those who matter much. This week is about seeking God, letting Him set the tone for our church and being with friends.
I will post if I can get access to the web, but most likely you will hear from me again on the weekend. This year our destination is outside of high speed and cell phone range. We have a land line, but that is about it. Have a great week! See ya Sunday!

I get the privilege of pastoring a church my parent's founded in 1984. My first role in the church, at age 14, was "janitor," vacuuming the living room floor after the meeting finished. A few years ago both my parents passed in a plane crash and I was set in their place. The stories and experiences I share on this site often come from having my sleeves rolled up in the ministry for many years.
