VIRGINIA TECH

Who can escape the news coverage of the horrible events on the Virginia Tech campus? No one. Each of us have been impacted by the images and stories now emerging from this tragedy in Virginia. This morning I took a few moments to watch some interviews. I was gripped with emotion as I listened to loved ones talk about their loss.

It has only been 7 years and a few months since the untimely loss of both my mother and father in a commercial airline crash and grief like this week stirs a lot of memories. Like then, this tragedy at VT leaves me without the combination of words to adequately express the variety of emotions I feel.

May we all love our loved one's who are with us stronger today. May we all pray for student's, families and communities derailed by this week. May we all be more vigilant to find a way to help people who are desperately searching for what only God can give.

2 Cor 1:3-6, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
